Current World Record O-cell Test

WORLD RECORD 31,350 TON LOAD TEST!

In March 2005, a new world record for deep foundation load testing of 31,350 tons (279 MN) was set in Incheon, Korea on the Incheon 2nd Link Bridge - Causeway project. This mega-structure will link the new Incheon International Airport with the new Songdo City, over 6 miles (10 km) away. This test exceeds Loadtest's 2003 world record by 13,000 tons.

Loadtest, Inc. conducted the record setting load test utilizing five (5) 34-inch diameter (6,000 ton capacity) O-cellsĀ® on a single plane in the 120 inc


h (3m) diameter pile. The general contractor for the project was AMEC and the foundation contractor was Samsung.

This world record load test was the third of four Osterberg Cell load tests conducted on this project.
