Pile/Shaft Callipering Devices

Loadtest have a range of instruments for assessing the profile of the pile bore walls and verticality under dry and wet conditions. Our instruments can provide an appraisal of the distance from the instrument of multiple descrete angles simultanously or continuously, to provide sufficient information for a three dimentional picture to be formed of the bore profile.

SoniCaliper - Pile/Shaft Callipering

The SoniCaliper is quietly becoming a specified procedure for production as well as dedicated test shafts. By having the ability to virtually “see” shafts constructed in water, polymers and other mineral slurries; the engineer, designer and contractor gain additional confidence that the end product is manufactured according to specification. The SoniCaliper can determine verticality, theoretical volume and create images of the shaft bottom. Using revolutionary software the SoniCaliper produces “as-constructed” images with a tolerance of 6 mm. For more information on using the SoniCaliper for your next drilled shaft project, please contact the foundation experts at LOADTEST.

Utilizing sonar technology, our unique service provides a full 360 degree profile of the shaft, allowing our engineers to generate a complete three-dimensional model of the shaft walls. Tested in most standard drilling fluids, sonar callipering has provided outstanding results along with real time display of the results. Sonar callipering is a fast, cost effective method for checking hole characteristics prior to placing concrete.

The pile/shaft wall and bottom can be profiled in most conditions. Our SoniCaliper provides accurate measurement of cross-sectional area and verticality.
