WORLD RECORD 279MN (31,350 TON) LOAD TEST!

In March 2005, a new world record for deep foundation load testing of 279 MN was set in Incheon, Korea on the Incheon 2nd Link Bridge - Causeway project. This mega-structure will link the new Incheon International Airport with the new Songdo City, over 10 km away. This test exceeds Loadtest's 2003 world record by 114 MN.

5 x 870mm O-cells being assembled

LOADTEST conducted the record setting load test utilizing five (5) 870 mm diameter 60 MN capacity O-cells® on a single plane in the 3m diameter pile.

The general contractor for the project was AMEC and the foundation contractor was Samsung.
Cage sections in preparation

This world record load test was the third of four Osterberg Cell load tests conducted on this project.
